Community and content rules
Updated October 25, 2026
Version 2026-10
Gawazy is where people plan one of the most important days of their lives. These rules keep it honest, respectful and safe. They apply to everything posted on Gawazy: business profiles, listings, offers, posts, stories, chats, ratings, reviews and comments. They are part of the terms of use.
1. Be honest
- Reviews and ratings describe your own real experience with that business. No reviews in exchange for money, discounts or gifts, no reviews of your own business or a competitor's, no reviews written for others.
- Businesses publish only services they really offer, at real prices, with their own photos or photos they have permission to use.
- Do not pretend to be someone else, another business or Gawazy.
2. Be respectful
Not allowed:
- insults, threats, harassment, bullying or hate speech, including against a religion, origin, gender or disability;
- sexual content, nudity, or violent or shocking images;
- personal attacks in reviews: criticise the service, not the person.
3. Keep it safe and legal
Not allowed:
- anything illegal under Egyptian law, or offering illegal services or goods;
- someone else's personal data or photos without their permission (phone numbers, addresses, private messages, pictures of guests);
- links, phone numbers or advertising in comments: contact goes through the business's own buttons;
- spam, chain messages, or contacting people for anything other than their request;
- asking customers to pay "through Gawazy": Gawazy takes no payments between customers and businesses;
- malware, phishing links, or trying to break into accounts or the service.
4. Respect others' work
Post only photos, videos and texts you own or have permission to use. If your work is used without permission, see the copyright claims policy.
5. How we check content
- New businesses, listings and offers, and some posts and stories, are reviewed by our team before they appear.
- Public review texts and comments pass an automatic word filter and may wait for a moderator. Rate limits stop floods of messages and comments.
- Moderators decide by these rules and always record a reason. A filter only holds content for a person to look at; it never decides alone.
6. Report and block
- Use the Report button on any business, listing, post, story, review, comment or chat to tell us about content that breaks these rules. Reports are confidential: the person reported does not see who reported them.
- Content reported by several people (3 reports for a review) may be hidden until a moderator decides.
- Block a person to stop them writing to you or commenting on your content. You can also mute or unfollow a business.
- Something dangerous or urgent? Contact the police first, then tell us.
7. What happens when rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is and whether it happened before, we may: ask for a correction, hide or remove the content, limit comments or chats, pause promotions, suspend the account or business, or close it. We tell the person the reason, except where the law or someone's safety prevents it. Where the law requires, we pass information to the competent authorities.
8. Disagree with a decision?
Write to support (Account → Support) within 30 days with the link or the item. A different team member reviews the decision and answers with a reason.
